Django a Montmartre is now organized by “Musiques Itinérantes” Paris

The association “Jazz Montmartre” is attentive to Montmartre-based artists! Daniel John Martin, who initiated the event “Django à Montmartre,” has been a Montmartre resident for nearly a decade. He is also the artistic director of “Swing sur les Abbesses” and the master of ceremonies for the weekly sessions of “La nouvelle jam selon le Saint Jean,” which take place at 23 rue des Abbesses every Thursday. DJM has recorded with Didier Lockwood and the Onztet de violons jazz – Patrick Saussois (live in London) – Romane (two records comprised of DJM’s compositions) – “Double Cream alongside Gilles Réa – Mayo Hubert (Parisian Impromptu) – with Robben Ford (Pardon my french) … He has toured extensively with Patrick Saussois, Romane, Boulou et Elios Férré, Angelo Debarre, Didier Lockwood (onztet), and many more…
MARC DE MAUNY Président de Jazz Montmartre
Cette année, nous accueillons notre nouveau président : Marc De Mauny. Nous avons rencontré Marc lorsqu’il a participé à D.A.M. en tant qu’étudiant l’an dernier.
De 1998 à 2000, Marc de Mauny a été responsable des arts au British Council à Saint-Pétersbourg. À ce titre, il était en charge du programme artistique des célébrations du 300ᵉ anniversaire de la Grande Ambassade de Pierre le Grand.
En 1998, il fonde le Festival international de musique ancienne de Saint-Pétersbourg, aux côtés du violoniste Andrei Reshetin en tant que directeur artistique. Marc de Mauny quitte le festival en 2007 pour rejoindre Raiffeisenbank à Moscou comme directeur de la communication, responsable de la politique de mécénat et de philanthropie.
Il revient au secteur artistique en 2010 en tant que directeur du développement du Théâtre Mikhaïlovski à Saint-Pétersbourg. En 2011, Marc de Mauny est nommé directeur général de l’Opéra et Ballet de Perm, où il travaille avec le directeur artistique Teodor Currentzis. Il est également producteur exécutif du Festival international Diaghilev, fonction qu’il occupe jusqu’à son retour en France en 2015. Depuis Paris, il gère alors les tournées internationales de MusicAeterna, ainsi que des résidences dans les festivals d’Aix-en-Provence, de Salzbourg et de la Ruhrtriennale.
En 2019, Marc de Mauny crée la société de production Pont Neuf – Performing Fine Arts, qui favorise les collaborations créatives entre artistes visuels et artistes du spectacle vivant. De 2020 à 2022, il est directeur général du Festival Ravel à Saint-Jean-de-Luz, qu’il fonde avec Jean-François Heisser et Bertrand Chamayou.

CONTINUO Jazz, the Free Breath of Creation
In 2016, jazz enthusiast Flavien Pierson founded CONTINUO Jazz.
Since then, the label has produced major artists such as Line Kruse and her Big Band, Pierrick Pedron, Ninine Garcia (with the participation of Thomas Dutronc), Khalil Chahine, the Ferré brothers, Xavier Richardeau, Daniel John Martin with Romane and later with Robben Ford, as well as other leading figures of the contemporary jazz scene.

A friend of the historic Jazz Montmartre crew and a faithful companion of the morning coffee rituals on rue des Abbesses, Jacques has revealed himself to be a true lover of the arts and literature. When he is not enjoying his truffle-infused dishes, he carefully examines the association’s account books for the benefit of Django à Montmartre and Swing sur les Abbesses
